Overview

TixKarma is a ticketing platform built on a simple principle: the people who buy tickets to your events are your fans, not ours. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it flows — to you, the venue.

By using TixKarma as a fan (ticket buyer) or as a venue (event organizer), you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

What we collect

From fans (ticket buyers)

  • Payment information (processed and stored securely by Stripe — we never see raw card numbers)
  • Billing zip code
  • Device and browser information
  • Ticket purchase history on our platform
  • Arrival scan data (time of entry at events)
From venues
  • Business name and contact information
  • Stripe account details for payout processing
  • Event details you create
  • Login credentials

How we use your information

For fans: We use your information to issue tickets, process payments, send QR codes, and — with your consent — notify you about future events from venues you've bought tickets from.

For venues: We use your information to process payouts, maintain your account, and provide you with fan data and analytics from your own events.

We do not use fan data to market events from other venues. We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not run advertising on our platform.

Fan data and venue ownership

This is the part that makes us different. When a fan buys a ticket to your event through TixKarma, you — the venue — receive their name, email, zip code, purchase history, and arrival data for that event. This data is yours to use for marketing your own events.

Venues may not sell fan data to third parties, use it for purposes unrelated to their own events, or share it with other venues without explicit fan consent.

TixKarma retains aggregated, anonymized data for platform analytics and improvement. We do not use individually identifiable fan data for purposes beyond operating the platform.

Payments and financial data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you purchase a ticket, your card information goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on TixKarma's servers.

TixKarma receives confirmation of successful payment and transaction metadata (amount, timestamp, last four digits of card) from Stripe for record-keeping purposes.

Venue payout information — including Stripe account identifiers — is stored securely and used only for the purpose of routing ticket revenue to the correct venue account.

Ticket resale and QR codes

If a ticket is resold through TixKarma's resale marketplace, the original ticket is voided and a new QR code is issued to the buyer. Both the original purchaser's and new buyer's transaction records are updated accordingly.

Resale transaction data is shared with the relevant venue, including the markup amount and the portion routed to the venue.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to process transactions securely. We use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used in aggregate.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking networks. We do not share behavioral data with ad platforms.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Fans may request deletion of their personal data by contacting us at privacy@tixkarma.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, object to certain processing, and receive a portable copy of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tixkarma.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

TixKarma is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We'll notify registered users by email if we make material changes to this Privacy Policy. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
